Autonomous Behavior
By Sjef Fransen • Sep 19th, 2008 • Category: AssignmentsCreating an object that behaves autonomous is a very interesting to do. You will never know what will happen and this unpredictability is very interesting. What if the object is listening to the neighbor instead of yourself?
Within this module I worked togehter with 3 students and build an autonomous robot which reacted upon sound in the environment.
Goal:
Design an object that behaves autonomous.
Group work:
Jacob Post, Michel Sperling, Wouter van Dijk, Sjef Fransen
Time:
1week.
Deliverables:
- Group working prototype of autonomous behaving object, using sound sensors.
- Group Report with short personal reflection
Robot concept:
With respect to this module we as a team decided to make a robot that hears sounds and gets away from it when these sounds become too intensive: you can scare the robot away! Typical is the robot’s way of moving; since we use three wheels to steer into multiple directions instead of two (which is more commonly used). Here is the movie to see it work.
